first Class builders
I was tasked with creating a new visual identity for First Class Builders that would reflect the quality of their work while positioning the company for where it’s headed next.
The challenge was finding a visual language that could sit comfortably between approachable and high-end. Rather than leaning into the familiar cues of residential construction, I developed a direction that feels modern, intentional, and refined, with room for the brand to evolve from renovations and additions into custom home building.
At the center of the concept is the experience of transforming a space. The planning, the waiting, the second-guessing, and ultimately the moment when everything comes together and you realize it was worth it.
The identity brings that idea to life through a restrained visual system that feels confident without feeling excessive, creating a foundation that can grow alongside the work itself.

a note from the designer
Instead of leading with craftsmanship, luxury, or the finished space, I wanted the identity to capture the feeling that comes after it all comes together. The client was interested in a slate blue color palette and line-based logos, which gave me a starting point for exploring the identity. The copy became a big part of that idea: “I can’t believe it’s the same place.” “This was worth it.” “Wow.” Short, human reactions that feel more like a thought than a sales pitch.
That same restraint carried into the visual identity. The logo is intentionally minimal, with typography that doesn’t need to shout and negative space that gives everything room to breathe. The overall system feels calm and resolved, allowing the photography and finished spaces to do the convincing. Most importantly, the direction was designed to grow with the company, working just as naturally for a renovation or addition today as it can for a custom home in the future.
